Hello darling illustrators, it’s been a long time since I haven’t posted anything on Illustration Business School. So many things have been happening in my illustration life. I started my own luxurious scarf brand and that took some time to bring to life. While I’m doing all of that, I still have my heart to teach illustration business.

It’s so important for you to learn all the tools and techniques as when you truly learn these secrets, you will be able to live a life of your dreams.
So today, I would like to tell you the most important thing you need to succeed is confidence. You need to be confident in your work.
No matter now good you are, how beautiful your work, if you don’t have confidence in talking about your work, clients are going to feel it. It’s like in a sea, fish that don’t have confidence are ending up being eaten. This is the sad truth but we better face it than not talk about it.

So where does confidence come from?

Here is the formula that is so simple, yet not so easy to follow.
CONFIDENCE = CLARITY + COMMITMENT
It’s crucial to have CLARITY in knowing what you need to do.
So ask yourself questions like:
What am I desiring to achieve? What is my financial goal? What is my illustration goal?
I know that for us creatives, it’s not always easy to put clear goals and to walk towards them. We sometimes need to make an effort. I invite you to write below what are your illustration goals? I am here to help you achieve them.
Also know that confidence is not found in how many likes you get on facebook. You might get 100 likes one day and 2 the other day. You cannot depend on how good you feel about your illustration work just on how many likes you are getting.

You need to understand how the modern illustration marketing works, then you will be super confident and clear on what you need to do.

My suggestion to you is get CLEAR on a marketing plan.

1. Come up with 10 best pieces of your work

2. Put them up online

3. know your Niche. Niche is key is finding many clients. Look for it, think about it.

4. Get as many details as you can about your niche target and shoot for the stars.

Start here and then we’ll continue on exploring different marketing tactics that you can use to promote your work.
